In the heart of Summit, where faith, family, and music run deep, Arthur Young has emerged as one of Southern Soul’s most authentic voices. More than just an entertainer, Young is a storyteller whose music reflects real life—the struggles, the heartbreak, the resilience, and the joy of everyday people across the South.
Music has been woven into Young’s life since childhood. By the age of three, he was already traveling and performing with the Tricounty Male Chorus alongside his father, learning firsthand the power of gospel music and family harmony. Those early experiences planted the seeds for a lifelong passion that would continue to grow through the years.

In his early twenties, Young joined the Free Will Gospel Singers, sharpening his vocal ability and deepening his roots in traditional gospel music. But while he loved performing the songs of legends like Lee Williams, a challenge from his uncle would ultimately change the direction of his career. Encouraged to stop singing other artists’ music and discover his own voice, Young stepped into songwriting—a move that would transform him from a performer into a true artist.
That journey continued with the formation of the Sons of Christ alongside his cousins, allowing Young to further develop his sound and identity. Yet it was personal hardship that truly shaped the artist fans know today. Following a difficult divorce, Young turned pain into purpose, channeling his emotions into blues and Southern Soul music. The genre gave him the freedom to tell raw, honest stories that listeners could deeply relate to.

That authenticity connected in a major way when his breakout hit, “Funky Forty,” began gaining traction online. At the time, Young was still working as a truck driver, recording videos between long road trips and sharing his music with the world. His gritty vocals, relatable lyrics, and undeniable charisma quickly resonated with audiences, helping the song go viral and establishing him as a rising force in Southern Soul.
Since then, Young has released seven albums and built a reputation for delivering unforgettable live performances. Whether performing at festivals, rodeos, clubs, private events, or packed Southern Soul gatherings, he brings an energy and honesty that keeps audiences coming back. His music speaks directly to working-class Southern life, capturing moments of love, heartbreak, perseverance, and celebration with authenticity that can’t be manufactured.

Off the stage, Young remains grounded in the values that shaped him. A devoted husband and father, he often shares moments of his journey with his wife, Ms. Ty, and their children, giving fans a glimpse into the family-centered life behind the music. That personal connection is part of what makes his artistry so powerful—fans don’t just hear his story; they feel like they’re part of it.
Today, Arthur Young is proving that Southern Soul is more than a genre—it’s a culture, a testimony, and a way of life. With a growing fan base and a sound rooted in truth and experience, he continues pushing the genre forward while staying true to the faith, family, and Southern roots that built him.
Arthur Young isn’t simply creating music—he’s creating a legacy.
