A Legacy of Style, Strength & Love

How Stephanie Green and Her Daughter Jaiden Built More Than a Brand—They Built a Bond

For Stephanie Green, success has never been measured solely by career titles or accomplishments. Instead, it has always been rooted in purpose, presence, and the kind of love that shows up consistently for the people who matter most.

After dedicating 28 years to state government, Stephanie made a life-changing decision that many only dream about—retiring early at just 48 years old. But for her, the choice wasn’t simply about stepping away from work. It was about stepping fully into motherhood.

With her daughter Jaiden Short actively involved in school and extracurricular activities, Stephanie knew she didn’t want to miss the moments that mattered most.

“I wanted to be there,” Stephanie shares. “I didn’t want to miss out on her high school years and all the memories that came with them.”

What began as a commitment to being more present soon evolved into an entirely new chapter—one fueled by faith, courage, creativity, and the influence of a mother-daughter bond.

In January 2021, Stephanie launched Jazzy & Sassy Gemz, a fashion jewelry brand centered around confidence, affordability, and self-expression. Though she had always loved fashion and accessories, entrepreneurship was never something she imagined for herself.

“For a long time, I told myself I wasn’t a salesperson,” she admits. “But after retiring, I knew I wanted something meaningful that would still allow me to create income, connect with people, and enjoy life.”

What makes the business even more special is the story behind its name.

“When it was time to come up with a name, Jaiden said ‘Jazzy,’ inspired by her own name,” Stephanie recalls. “Then she added ‘Sassy’ for me because of my personality. It became something that represented both of us.”

The uniquely spelled “Gemz” also reflects Stephanie’s creativity and personal pride, adding another layer of meaning to the brand she built from the heart.

For Jaiden, watching her mother transition from retirement into entrepreneurship has been both inspiring and exciting.

“She’s strong, stylish, and full of life,” Jaiden says when asked to describe her mother in one sentence.

In the early stages of the business, Jaiden played an active role behind the scenes—helping with live shows, packaging, invoicing, and shipping orders. What could have simply been a business venture quickly became something deeper: quality time, teamwork, and memories they would both carry forever.

“That was our bonding time,” Stephanie says. “We were building something together.”

Even now, as mother and daughter continue growing into new seasons of life, their relationship remains grounded in love, respect, and support.

“We’re in a good place and get along well,” Jaiden shares.

Stephanie describes motherhood as one of the greatest responsibilities and blessings of her life. Having Jaiden later in life and raising her as an only child strengthened her desire to be present, protective, and intentional every step of the way.

More than anything, she hopes her daughter understands that life’s challenges can become lessons—and that confidence, wisdom, and perseverance will always carry her forward.

That same confidence is something Jaiden admires most about her mother.

“What makes her strong is her confidence and the way she carries herself,” she says.

Through Jazzy & Sassy Gemz, Stephanie has discovered that she’s offering women more than jewelry. She’s helping them embrace confidence, individuality, and joy.

“When you look good, you feel good,” Stephanie explains. “Accessories complete the look, and sometimes that extra confidence can change someone’s entire day.”

Her entrepreneurial journey has also introduced her to a wider community of women, business owners, and supporters who continue to encourage her growth personally and professionally.

Still, at the center of it all is legacy.

For Jaiden, the word carries deep meaning when she thinks about her mother.

“It’s the way she shows up and the lasting impact she leaves—her confidence, her creativity, and how she inspires people around her,” she says.

And perhaps that is Stephanie’s greatest accomplishment of all—not simply the business she built, but the example she continues to set.

A legacy rooted in love.
A bond strengthened through purpose.
And a story that proves the most meaningful success is often found in simply being present for the people you love most.
