Her journey into the creative world began during the later stages of her modeling career. What initially sparked her interest was not just curiosity—but discomfort. Working in an industry largely dominated by male photographers, Ja’lia recognized a gap: the lack of safe, comfortable spaces for women to fully express themselves. Rather than accept it, she chose to change it.
“I wanted to provide that safe space—not only for myself, but for other women who hold themselves back due to a lack of comfort,” she shares.

Like many self-made creatives, her journey was not polished from the start. Ja’lia candidly shares that when she first purchased her camera, she believed that alone would define her success. For nearly five years, she shot in auto mode—unaware of the deeper technical and artistic layers of photography. It wasn’t until she began connecting with other photographers and seeking guidance that her perspective shifted.
She learned that true creativity isn’t found in expensive equipment—it lives within the creator.

As her skills developed, so did her passion. While photography laid the foundation, Ja’lia found her true creative freedom in videography. Through directing music videos and short films, she discovered a deeper outlet for storytelling—one that allowed her to create, recreate, and fully immerse herself in her artistic vision. For her, video offers a dynamic canvas that goes beyond the repetition of traditional photoshoots.
In addition to her visual artistry, Ja’lia’s work as a Certified Image Consultant adds another layer to her impact. With a natural gift for problem-solving and pattern recognition, she offers guidance shaped by lived experience. Having worn many hats and navigated different phases of life, she brings both relatability and real insight to those she works with.
Her journey as an entrepreneur is equally grounded in reality and resilience. Without the advantage of generational wealth, Ja’lia built her career from the ground up—balancing responsibility with ambition. While others may have spent disposable income on leisure, she invested in her craft, using every extra dollar to fund her vision.
“People think you start a business and instantly become successful, but that’s not the reality. I worked to maintain myself and my business—and I’m proud to say I did it on my own.”
