Dr. Michael L. Bookhardt is a highly accomplished physician whose career seamlessly blends family medicine, healthcare leadership, and community advocacy. A graduate of Oakwood University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine. He further strengthened his leadership expertise with an MBA in Healthcare Management from Davenport University and completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Currently, Dr. Bookhardt serves as a hospitalist physician and is one of the founding primary care physicians at Good Faith Wellness Center, where he remains committed to providing accessible, patient-centered care. Throughout his career in Mississippi, he has held multiple leadership roles, including Medical Director for several hospice organizations and Medical Director at Spine Medical Center in Jackson, contributing to the advancement of quality care across diverse healthcare settings.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Bookhardt is a nationally recognized speaker and healthcare advocate. His thought leadership has taken him to prominent platforms such as the White House Summit on Community Healthcare Partnerships and conferences hosted by the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also a founding member of Community United Outreach, a nonprofit organization based in Orlando, Florida, dedicated to uplifting and empowering underserved communities.

Dr. Bookhardt remains actively engaged in professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Mississippi Medical Association. Outside of medicine, he is a passionate keyboard musician, a small business owner in Jackson, Mississippi, and the creator and host of the engaging podcast “Telehealth Tuesday,” which explores innovation, access, and the future of healthcare.

Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Bookhardt’s career is rooted in clinical excellence, compassionate service, and visionary leadership. He is a devoted father to two beautiful daughters and a proud dog owner to “Bear” and “Uno.” His mission remains clear: to locally advance healthcare while empowering communities to thrive.
