Ced Wade: A New Voice with Old-School Soul

Cedrick Wade, known professionally as Ced Wade, was born on August 13, 1983, in Bryan, Texas. His journey in music began in the early 2000s as part of a local rap collective called Brushawood Hood Hustlaz. However, it wasn’t long before Ced’s talents and entrepreneurial spirit led him to make a name for himself as a party promoter. Over time, he became one of the most sought-after and respected Blues and Southern Soul promoters in the state of Texas.

Throughout his promotional career, which spans over a decade, Ced Wade worked with a star-studded lineup of artists including the late, great Mel Waiters, Lenny Williams, Sir Charles Jones, TK Soul, Calvin Richardson, and Pokey Bear, among many others. His ability to bring top-tier talent to stages across Texas cemented his reputation as a major player in the industry.

In 2023, Ced Wade made the bold decision to step from behind the scenes and into the spotlight, launching his own career as a Blues and Southern Soul artist. His debut single, Make Yourself Clear featuring Coldrank, generated significant buzz and signaled his arrival on the scene.

He followed up with Mr. Right featuring the legendary Willie Clayton, which quickly became his most successful single to date. His latest release, Big Bone Girl II also featuring Willie Clayton, has been gaining strong momentum across the Southern states.

Inspired by musical icons such as Mel Waiters, Willie Clayton, Johnny Taylor, and Bobby Womack, Ced Wade blends the soulful legacy of the greats with the vibrant energy of the genre’s newer generation. From his early days as a rapper and promoter to his current rise as a Southern Soul artist, Ced Wade’s evolution is a testament to passion, perseverance, and an undeniable love for music.
