Born Christopher Rutledge in the small Southern town of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Youngsmoove is quickly proving he’s a name the music world won’t soon forget. His passion for music sparked at just 12 years old, and from that moment on, he committed himself to chasing greatness.
In his early years, Youngsmoove teamed up with his older brother and a high school classmate to form a local group. They performed in school plays and set their sights on breaking into the industry. While the group eventually parted ways, the experience ignited something bigger—this is where Youngsmoove was truly born. Determined to continue on his own path, he stepped confidently into the world as a solo artist.
Youngsmoove began sharpening his craft, ultimately working on his debut EP, “More Than Just Lyrics.” His talent soon carried him beyond the studio and onto stages across Mississippi, including his hometown of Yazoo City. His smooth vocals and captivating dance moves have earned him opportunities to open for major acts such as the legendary R&B group Dru Hill and Jackson, Mississippi’s own superstar group Recognition.
His first single, “Temporary Forever” featuring Recognition, made waves on iTunes and introduced him to a wider audience. Although a bump in the road caused the track to be taken down, Youngsmoove didn’t stop. Instead, he pushed harder—dropping new music, refining his sound, and preparing for the release of his highly anticipated EP “More Than Just Lyrics.” His newest single, “One of a Kind,” has already hit the radio, signaling that big things are on the horizon.
With his growing fanbase—affectionately named Youngsmoove Nation—he is well on his way to becoming one of the newest faces of R&B. His journey is proof that talent, resilience, and passion always rise to the top.
Keep your eyes on this fresh new talent. Youngsmoove is just getting started.
