Adaeze O, widely known as the Queen of AfroSoul, is a U.S. Army Veteran bringing bold, West African–infused vibes to the Southern Soul world. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she is a first-generation Nigerian-American, the daughter of a Nigerian father and a mother from South Central Los Angeles by way of Marshall, Texas.
Her musical legacy runs deep—her maternal grandfather, a blues singer known as “A Sweet Reed,” performed during the groundbreaking era of blues across Texas, Louisiana, and California. Today, Adaeze carries that legacy forward with her signature AfroSoul sound, blending vibrant rhythms, soul, and transparency as she shares personal life experiences through her music.
Her journey into music began unexpectedly in December 2018, when she uploaded a raw freestyle video to Meek Mill’s instrumental “Trauma,” filmed inside her car. In the freestyle, she spoke openly about the challenges of growing up in a Nigerian-American household. The video sparked real-world opportunities and encouraged her to pursue music professionally. By 2020, Adaeze O launched her career with her debut project Queen of AfroSoul and introduced herself to the Southern Soul scene with her single “I’m Outside.”

Her unique sound has earned her national and international recognition, including performances of the National Anthem at a WNBA event, a celebrity basketball game hosted by Young Joc, and the official inauguration of Nigerian Art Day Atlanta in front of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Nigerian Ambassador Dr. Amina.
Her talent and versatility have allowed her to cross genres and stages. She has opened for Nigerian icon Flavour and contributed background vocals to Davido’s Timeless album, including the hit “No Competition” featuring Asake. In the Southern Soul space, Adaeze O has opened for Nellie Tiger Travis, appeared in J-Wonn’s music video “Why Not,” and had two of her songs featured in the Lifetime movie Tempted by Love starring Garcelle Beauvais, Loretta Devine, and others.
In 2022, she was awarded Supporting Artist of the Year by DCEM. Adaeze O’s mission is to heal through music—combining the spirit of India Arie’s positivity with her Afro-fusion roots to create a powerful new genre: AfroSoul. With a rich heritage rooted in blues and a global vision, she’s a force bringing cultural pride, healing, and soul to every stage she graces.
