
Donyale Renee, a Houston native now based in Atlanta since 1995, is a globally recognized singer, songwriter, and performer whose voice has graced stages across the U.S., Asia, and beyond. Her early Atlanta years saw her performing at elite private and corporate events, including multiple fundraisers for former Mayor Bill Campbell, and co-writing the campaign song for Mayor Shirley Franklin in 2002.
Donyale’s career includes singing background for Mariah Carey, Monifah, Michael Henderson, and Maxi Priest, and opening for legends such as Smokey Robinson, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Betty Wright, Calvin Richardson, and Theodis Ealey. From 2008–2011, she toured mainland China as a backing vocalist for pop sensation Jane Zhang, and fronted Atlanta’s premiere bands like Golden Touch Band and GT All-Stars.
Her international success flourished during her time living in Japan (1996–2007), where she performed with top Japanese artists like Yuji Oda and Def Jam Japan’s AI, and lent her vocals to British R&B acts Jackie Graham and Elisha La’Verne. She became the voice behind major Japanese TV commercials like Draft One Beer and Crystal Geyser, and voiced the beloved character “Pinky” in the hit Sony video game “Bust A Groove.” She also co-wrote the Japanese TV theme “Wave Up.” Career highlights include performing at the G8 Summit (2004), singing in gospel workshops led by Donnie McClurkin, and headlining Michael Jackson’s VIP Party in Japan (2007). From 2011–2019, she held residencies in nightclubs across Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and Thailand, building a loyal fan base throughout Asia.
